Welcome to my newly designed blog! That goofy character up there in the banner is the main character in my newest favorite anime, Niea_7 (Nee-yah Under 7). She's a naughty, lazy, freeloading alien who sometimes collects junk with which she makes UFOs. Hehe. This design update was made on the last day of August. The 'Ber months are here! Christmas is around the corner!

Anyway, thanks to John's NieA_7 Shrine for the image!

and so it works everytime i change the filename of my page. my pc can't seem to download the newest version of the file and keeps loading the old one. even if i have already fixed my settings to check for new versions every visit to the page. weird!

let's try this again.

gad, i've spend almost two hours trying to figure this out and wondering why my updates don't reflect on my site right away.

The PinoyBloggers egroup has this thing called Seven Shots on Wednesday. This is basically 7 questions that we answer in our blogs. Something to talk about, ika nga. I haven't been participating in the previous sets of questions but the current set seems interesting so here goes.

1. Have you ever deliberately hurt an animal?

2. What about another person?

Ok, I'll answer the first two questions in one blow. This is not something I'm proud of, but YES to both. The first question brings to mind my very weird pastime of torturing helpless creepy crawlies and insects. I remember spending my summer afternoons in our yard where a nice green leafy shrub (I don't know its proper name) grew. If one would look closely (like I did) at the leaves of that tree, one would find a number of caterpillars the same color as the leaves. And they're all munching away at the greens. It fascinated me to watch them cut holes in the leaves, so most times I'd do just that. But, Evil Ulan lurks somewhere inside me and one day, I tore off a leaf where a caterpillar was attached and put it on the ground beside an ANT HILL. The red ants were busy doing their thing so I just gave them a little push...I poked at the hole causing the ants to go this way and that, and finally finding the green caterpillar and... Gad, it was horrible. I was evil. I'm sorry!!! The ants feasted on the caterpillar, but I had revenge on the ants for the caterpillar (it didn't occur to me that they should have revenge on me) by going to our laundry area where a wire clothesline hung across the space. Big ants were using the line as a highway, so I got myself a candle, lit it, and held the flame to one end of the line. Clothesline became hotline and it rained ants.

The second question, well, all I can say is that I was young and twisted. Sigh.

3. If you could instantly become fluent in a foreign language, which one would you pick?

Does fictional languages count? I'd say Quenya, a form of Elvish. But, if we're only talking about "real" languages, I'd say Italian. It sounds nice and sexy and very expressive.

4. Quick, think of a brand new journal name for yourself. What is it and why?

Space! Because a blank page is a space that I could retreat to and be comforted when things go wrong, or right! Not to mention ramble about subjects that my friends are weary of already.

5. Do you ever find certain names attractive or even sexy? Like what names?

Miguel or other Spanish names. They just sound so...male.

6. What does your own name mean? Do you think it fits you?

I chose my name (Ulan, my net name anyway) so it should suit me because I love rain.

7. Do you give names to objects like cars, computers, etc.? Examples?
Not really, but I do talk to them :-P hehe

Ok, I'm back at Geocities because for now, the FTP still works. At least I'll get to upload the rest of the site. If the FTP fails tomorrow, then I guess it's back to the drawing board for me.

ok, let's just host the damn thing at BlogSpot. Arrggghhh....what I'll do is keep the Geocities account and build it via browser upload and just put a link to the blog which is in freaking blogspot. which means I won't be tweaking the design much because it's sooooo freaking complicated since BlogSpot will host just one page. And I'll have to host the images somewhere else which will allow me to remotely link to them. Bugger.

Good thing nobody really reads this shit. Just me, hehe. But, honestly, I'm getting dizzy with all this moving around.

I'm having a little bit of trouble with this new URL. All my changes don't reflect right away. When I try to upload it to Geocities (which, suprise! is still allowing me to use FTP), I can see the changes no problem. I tried changing the file name just to see if it will upload right, and it does. Now, to upload using the same file name is tricky...even though I've ticked the NO FILE RENAME box, which should automatically overwrite the previous file.

Arggghhh...

What's wrong with my PC? But how come it works in Geocities. Sigh, it's a conspiracy.

Anyhoo, good day today. But, tiring, as usual. Hope to buy a 17inch monitor tomorrow, woo hoo. No new links for now. I somehow end up with less surfing time as I plan each day. Looks like it's going to be a long week, this is.

I have a new home!!! Finally got the Fateback account rolling. Thanks to the Fateback staff who patiently answered all my questions. Hope we'll have a nice time together.

Right now, Fateback.com is offering a nice deal: Free 60MB webspace, FTP, with unlimited bandwidth! It also has a free POP3 email account. So, for now, my blog will reside here. I'm also thinking of making an extension site for my Rurouni Kenshin Desktop Goodies which is getting modest traffic (about an average of 20 hits a day).

But, for now, let me blog!!!

I'm using a template for my design because I'm planning to tweak the design again. This design's nice and clean, anyway, so this will do for now.

Spent the entire Holy Week offline. Can you imagine? I almost went crazy. Thank goodness I rediscovered TV! And whaddyaknow...I went through the entire marathon of 7th Heaven (well, the not all of it, because I reluctantly went to Town to do some errands) and what can I say, I'm hooked. I think I'm going to stay home Saturday evenings from now on to catch the show. Gad...when I was hooked on anime, I passed off as being "nerdy cool." But, now, I might not even be "nerdy nerdy" anymore. Just plain baduy. Nyar! But, who cares, there are cuties there. Haha. :D

BTW, my other blog moved, too. It was also formerly hosted on Geocities until that FTP thing...so it's now in Tripod. Tripod seems to be slow on the refresh because whenever I update, I check to see if the updates reflect on the site but I seem to always get the old version. Could it be my PC? But, how come it's not like that with Geocities? Anyway, The Techy Hobbit's new hobbit hole is at http://techyhobbit.tripod.com.

More updates midweek. Hope to make new wallpapers, cos I miss doing that.

And Danisha, if you're reading this, I think we should work on the your site now. :-)
