Welcome to my newly designed blog! That goofy character up there in the banner is the main character in my newest favorite anime, Niea_7 (Nee-yah Under 7). She's a naughty, lazy, freeloading alien who sometimes collects junk with which she makes UFOs. Hehe. This design update was made on the last day of August. The 'Ber months are here! Christmas is around the corner!

Anyway, thanks to John's NieA_7 Shrine for the image!

Been sitting in front of the computer for HOURS! And it's not like it's my first time to log on today. But, I must say it's been productive. Got these off the Pinoyexchange thread on OB: May iga-guapo pa ba sya??? Lord.

Ryan asked during the taping:
Do you ever feel like you want to step out of yourself?

Well, of course the answer is yes.

Some call it quarter-life crisis. But, I'd come off as a whining brat if I romanticize this phase of mine with fancy titles, just to get understanding or sympathy.

In all honesty, I am just in a rut.

Right now, I want to step out of myself and well, step into places where I can just loaf around. Cyberspace. Middle-earth. Wherever. Faerie? Sure.

I'm thinking maybe Sky killed me. Maybe I'm just a human with her daemon separated from her. No spirit. No life. No one home.

Of course, I want to come back sometime soon. After I've gotten my "rest." I'd be content to spend an entire week here in my study, reading books, listening to music, staring at the wall. Crawling around the web and connecting with people that I've never seen, will never see.

There's a strange comfort in such correspondence. Sometimes, it can be a little empty. But, maybe right now, that fits right in with the rest of me.

Another day passed without me getting inspired. How terrible, huh?

It's after midnight and I'm still online researching for my segment on Dtour. This is something I enjoy, though. Finding out about new things. Am supposed to do a segment on emulators. There's an issue about them emus, though. Copyright issues regarding those ROMs. Oh well, maybe we can qualify the downloads. I think it really would be nice to be able to play old games. If I get hooked on a new game or an old game, I really will be a desktop monster. As if I'm not one already.

From my research, this MAME (Multi Arcade Machine Emulator) is pretty popular among gamers. I think I'll succumb to the temptation and download it. Ahh...space invaders, here I come. And PacMan. Those were the days -- when my gadget-envy first came to be.

A lot of my friends had Atari consoles. And all I had were Game N' Watch games (Popeye and Egg) which was pretty cool, too, but Atari...now, that was a real trip.

There are PC versions of old games, though, that don't need emus. They're downloadable from these sites: Home of the Underdogs, and Classic Gaming (but you have to sift through the games that do need emus).

And hey, you can still play them GameNWatch games on your PC. I've got Popeye and Octopus right here. I also have Blockout, a cool game much like Tetris but in 3D. Give it a shot! Download it here. Just unzip the files and click on the .exe and off you go.

There just aren't enough hours in a day.

I'm not exactly packed with work -- my work attitude these days is that work is just work -- but I still get home wishing that there was more time to do the things I really enjoy. Like read. Draw a little. Surf a lot. Fiddle with the computer, or play guitar (which was just returned to me last night).

Haven't been making wallpapers lately. Been surfing around lang.

The Techy Hobbit is up -- it's my blog with Data and Abbie-dude. Lots of LOTR talk there. And links, and news, and opnions, and questions.

I'm currently into weblogs and been surfing around. I think it's very, how do you say it, narcissistic? Hehe, in a way it is. I post so I can read my post. How very vain. How very nice!

Great site for those interested in Elvish: Gwaith-i-Phethdain -- it has articles, .wav downloads, etc. on JRRT's languages. There's a special section on Elvish/Dwarvish dialogue included in the LOTR Movie.

Today is Saturday. Before I go into today, yesterday muna.

Yes, I watched Number 9 last night. Funny, the first 5 times I watched LOTR, it was intense for me. Then numbers 6, 7, and 8, I was a little kenkoy about it. I kept making jokes and thinking of scenes to spoof. But last night, Number 9, was again intense! Maybe I knew that I wouldn't be watching it again for a long time (until I get the DVD) and wanted to experience it for the last time.

Another thing, watched it with Borugi-kun (it's his 5th) and he fell asleep before the Riders even appeared. And slept through most of the movie. Just like the first time, when we saw the premiere. But, I didn't bother trying to keep him awake this time. Felt like I was seeing the movie alone...and that was nice, too.

My favorite parts:
Screening 1: the Prologue and the Flight to the Ford
Screening 2: Baradur -- "Shire! Baggins!" UP MUSIC -- The Nine ride out of Baradur
Screening 3: MORIA!
Screening 4: MORIA!
Screening 5: MORIA!
Screening 6: Lothlorien -- "In place of a dark lord you will have a queen. Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Treacherous as the sea! Stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love me and despair!" (ano ba yan, Frodo, kung kani-kanino kasi inaalok yung singsing na yan)
Screening 7: Boromir
Screening 8: Boromir
Screening 9: BOROMIR OF THE THREE ARROWS. Boo hoo hoo...

Ok. I still haven't seen any other movie. I think my head is still in Middle-earth.

Waiting for my turn to transcribe, then write my script, and then edit. It's Dtour day today.

Will watch number 9 tonight, after work. (I thought, well, might as well.)

While waiting, checked Tolkien Movies for their latest finds. Go look at this article about Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. PJ's children (6-year old girl, 5-year old son) appeared on the film as hobbit children!!! I wonder which ones. They're all so cute anyhoo.

I feel sad for Boyens. She said that after working on the project -- writing and re-writing the scripts and all that digging up of info, etc -- LOTR is sort of lost to her already. It's not the same anymore. :-( I think a thank-you is in order. :D

The new blog is up -- it's meant to be a group thing where my friends and I can talk Tolkien without people getting irritated. Anyhoo, I posted my Tolkien book titles there for Abbie. So, Abbie, punta ka doon.

I've moved the wallpapers to a separate page. You can find a permament link to that section on the right.

I've posted a new Orlando Bloom wallpaper, so check it out here.

Trying to set up a new blog with Data. Watch out for: middle-earthlings are techy, too. How do you spell techy, anyway? I've always spelled it like this, but some say it's techie. Oh well. I think they're right.

Found a video clip of Orlando Bloom and bad-hair-day-Liv Tyler talking about their characters in LOTR. What they say, of course, we've already heard before. But, if you're still interested (to see at least that Elves do have bad hair days), here's the link.

BTW, I'd be Galadriel if I were in LOTR. This test says so! Hehe.

Ok, back to work.

Ok. Back from Number 8 with Data. Geez, I might as well complete the 9. Probably another weekday. Tomorrow? Hehe. We'll see. I have yet to revise the layout of this blog so people (well, my friends) can access my internet "finds" easily, without having to read through all the posts. I'll probably put a special "Finds" column where there are links to all the things I find interesting. LOTR news, RK news, general internet goodies like clip art, fonts, desktop themes, wallpapers, skins, etc.

Might watch again tomorrow. I was really just kidding about watching it 9 times, but I guess I'm getting closer to that. Data wants to see it again and she asked me to come along...well, I've waited years for this, might as well make the most of it while it's still in the theaters!

Anyhoo, new OB wallpaper.

Will be making anime stuff next. Non-RK -- probably Niea_7, which is showing on AXN again. I should try to catch it...I didn't finish the series the last time!

Back from my 7th screening! It's funny how after watching it so many times, I can actually take a break within the movie to crack jokes. But, I must say that no matter how many times I see it, Boromir's scene retains the same intensity.

After the movie, Abbie kept running around the mall ala Legolas, hehe.

I'm a little sleepy, but I just had to tinker a bit. I am really a desktop monster, my goodness. The product of this tinkering is a new OB wallpaper, using tips from Red at the CCKG forum. I wasn't able to experiment much because I lack material. I should scrounge about for stuff I can use for the layers.

But, I guess I'm happy with the new wallpaper. It's still clean looking, not too noisy. The left side is nice and bare, perfect for desktop icons. I like the new texture, though...I usually just have plain, solid backgrounds. Well, enjoy the new wp!

Ok, back from "tea" with data. Actually, it was lunch at Choco Kiss and dessert at Cafe Verde. And lots of LOTR talk. I'll be leaving again in a while to watch LOTR for the 7th time. Hehe. I'm aiming for 9. One dedicated to each Rider...err, I mean, Walker. Your leanings, girl, are beginning to show...

Hisssssss...Ash nazg durbatuluk...

Will make a new goodies link box so that all the stuff I've ever seen gets compiled in one visible place and not get buried in the archives. Data! There are other LOTR links if you can read through this weird blog of mine -- desktop themes and what-not. Think about the blog idea, k? Hehe.

I'm a techy hobbit.

Just a quick post before I run off to get ready for my lunch date with Data. If there are any more Orlando Bloom fans stumbling upon my blog, here's a quick link for you: Video clips of OB's appearance at Kelly and Regis show. Hmmm...I've never heard of that show before.

Data is going to borrow my books again, so I won't be able to scan any Tolkien art for a while. There are lots on the net already, anyway. Try the Tolkien Archives.

Been keeping my book, The Tolkien Companion, beside me a lot these days to brush up on Middle-earth lore. I remember events in LOTR well enough, but there I details that want clarification. Hehe. Geek.

No new desktop goodies/links to desktop goodies for now. Will crawl the web soon for new finds! I am the desktop monster! Bwahahahaha!!!

I'd like to give credit to Bloomin' Marvellous and Orlando Bloom Online from which I downloaded the images I used to make the wallpapers. Go visit those sites and have an OB overload. :-) Hehe.

Ok, I've uploaded a couple of wallpapers featuring LOTR cast member, Orlando Bloom (who plays Legolas Greenleaf). All the other links are still dead, but I will fix them as soon as I can.

I'm in the process of fixing up the site. This will be a blog/wallpaper site featuring works that fall under different categories. I have a lot of interests and if I can't make a website for each of them, so I'll just dump all my goodies here.
